The school, named the Harold Mwenge Memorial Academy, opened in Spring 2010.
There are now 84 pupils in three classes (2 early years and 1 infant class) with three teachers and one head teacher. When a team from Swansea visited the school in April 2011 they reported how thrilled they were to see how happy the children were and so keen to learn. They love to sing and dance and were delighted to be able to perform to the team. Singing helps them to learn the language of education in Zambia as all classes are taught in English; though at home the children speak Bemba.
The school has begun to make quite an impact in the community and is expected to see many more pupils when teams visit the school again in March 2012
